But it is well worth the efforts to see the eyes of children light up. My first experience was about 10 or so years ago. I had been telling stories and deciced to add a puppet. I worked with a friend for awhile, she would tell the stories and I would interrupt with all sorts of questions just like real-life children tend to do. We used puppetry to teach good listening skills to a group of children at a battered women's shelter. Now, I am pleased to say that I have made numerous puppets and have also collected a large array of them, as well. I specialize in two areas:
