When Panda Was a Boy

When Panda Was a Boy is a collection of 10 children's stories that explore gender issues for preschoolers and elementary-aged children. An Introduction discusses why I wrote this book, as well as how to use the book. There is also a Definitions section at the end that discusses all the various terminology used in the GLBTTQ communities. When Panda Was a Boy includes A Boy Named Sue, which is about an Intersexed child; When Panda Was a Boy, which is about Gender Identity or Gender Bending; George Wants a Dress, which is about Cross Dressing, Transgender, Transsexual children; Amara's Birthday Request, which is about Gender Questions; and Charlie is a Girl, which is about being Trans. While each of these stories focus on different aspects of gender, such as Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender, Transsexual or Questioning, they are all stories that reflect Unitarian Universalist Values and help talk about each of these different topics with our children. The adults in the stories all exhibit ideal good parenting models in how to handle the topics.

When Panda Was a Boy sells for $15. The story file will be delivered to you via e-mail or set up to download from your own private Web Page.
